World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of the base. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're exceptionally lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the arrows that circle. This will roll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you can gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to a small ornament or object that has a purpose but is not important as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by players for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players must also be aware of the class's preferred stats. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying the new one.
