World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon an update.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. item upgrading have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
